World Museum in Liverpool exhibits an extensive collection which covers ethnology, archeology and natural as well as physical sciences. National History Center and a Planetarium are special attractions of the museum. The museum has gone under a major revamp recently with the purpose of increasing the display spaces thereby making the place even more accessible for the visitors. Originally the museum, due to its constituent of Earl of Derby’s natural history, started as the Derby Museum. Opened originally in 1851, the place used to share two rooms with a library on a Duke Street. Gradually, the museum became popular and started demanding more space. Slowly and steadily the museum was expanded. The museum is today a part of National Museums. New galleries inside the World Museum comprise of World Cultures, an Aquarium, the Bug House, The Western Discovery Center and Clore Natural Center.
