The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel is one of the most popular paid tourist attractions in London which people come to visit from across the globe. This gigantic Ferris wheel in Europe is 135 meters high. It is ideally positioned on the South Bank of the River Thames. This popular wheel carries 32 sealed capsules and each capsule holds 25 people. The egg shaped capsules are air conditioned and the wheel usually does not stop for passengers to get in its continuously moving, however the speed is slow enough for the passengers to walk on and off the wheel. The passengers can conveniently walk inside the capsule and can roam around to see the entire London skyline along with the view of famous Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and National Gallery. One complete revolution takes about 30 minutes. A lot of architects were involved in the designing of this enormous structure which is recognized world wide today. The structure resembles a huge spoked bicycle wheel. As this has become a major landmark in London, people generally prefer to stay near it because of which it’s closely surrounded by variety of budget accommodation options.
