Huntingtower Castle is one of the masterpieces in the city of Perth that has become a must visit attraction while staying at any of the Perth hotels. A unique well-preserved castle, the structure consists of three distinctive phases that include a keep from 15th century, a nearby L-shaped tower house from 16th century and a small connecting range built in 17th century. You can easily notice the impressive painting ceiling in the hall of this tower. Earlier known as The House of Ruthven, the castle was once owned by Ruthven family who held James IV captive at the same place for 10 months. The visitors are offered a ramped access to the ground floor. However, the upper floors are not suitable for those who cannot walk much. The visitors can also have a great time at the picnic spots and ground offered by the premises of the castle. Another big attraction of this place is the fine herbaceous border with a unique selection of perfumed bushes.
