A part of the master piece of an urban design called Charlotte Square by Robert Adam, Georgian House dates back from 1796. It was the time when those who could afford had started to escape from the overcrowded, filthy conditions of the Old Town of Edinburgh to the New Town that was fashionable enough. The domestic atmosphere as well as the social conditions of those times is beautifully reflected by the gorgeous china, luminous silver, furniture and exquisite paintings. In the year 1966, a touchscreen programme that features a virtual tour of the house numbers 5, 6 and 7 was conveyed to the Trust. In 1975, Charlotte Square opened its lower floors. There is a small shop in Georgian House at the entrance hall that sells relevant books and small gifts and also serves as a confectionary. Anyone who is visiting to Edinburgh can easily find accommodation in Edinburgh hotels.
