Exeter has been dominated by Exeter Cathedral for the past so many years. With two massive Norman towers, the West front of the cathedral is ornamented with sculptures of kings, saints and angels. You can have a look at the treasures in abundance inside the cathedral which include an astronomical clock which is more than 500 years old, the Great Organ of 1665 which is at the same position as it was at that time, a Minstrel’s gallery exhibiting carvings of angels playing instruments in 14th century and a ceiling which stretches unbroken for 100 meters. Another reason of awe in the Exeter Cathedral is a huge medieval window with full length nineteenth century figures that include Sidwell and the local saint. Visitors staying in any of the Exeter hotels may have needs that are catered to by a shop inside the Cathedral and a restaurant in its premises. Guided tours are also available to narrate the affluent history of Exeter Cathedral.
