Clarence Square is a Georgian Square of which landscaped lawns are a true centerpiece, in the Pittville Estate towards the north of Cheltenham town center. Pittville is famous for Pump Room and Pittville Park among the tourists for their unique artistry. The combination of housing and gardens’ set up is stereotypical of the garden estate by Joseph Pitt. Most of the houses in this area were built in 1830s, the time when Pitt’s ambitious project got on track after several delays caused due to the financial crisis in the period of 1820s. The Square derives its name from the Duke of Clarence. The area offers a fine assortment of restaurants, shops and places of interest. Though a residential area in Cheltenham, Clarence Square attracts a lot of tourists staying in nearby hotels in Cheltenham due to its magnificent and lush green appearances.
