One of the frugal attractions in Edinburgh, Brass Rubbing Centre occupies its place at Trinity Apse which is the only existing fragment of the Trinity College church and hospital from the 15th century. Though the original church of Trinity was knocked down in 1840s with the purpose to build way to Waverley Railway Station but the apse was once again built on the present site from the original stones in the 1870s. A number of replica monumental brasses are included at The Brass Rubbing Center. There is no experience essential to make a rubbing and this is the reasons this becomes attractive for the visitors. It is a unique tourist experience for anyone who is staying in any of the hotels in Edinburgh as it is a great way to learn the history as well as land up doing something productive. The staff is quiet hospitable and somewhat different from visiting galleries and museums.
