Arthur’s Seat is one of the much admired and free attraction in the city of Edinburgh. It is the main peak amongst the group of hills which give the charm to Holyrood Park. Holyrood Park is a long stretched piece of highland landscape in the middle of Edinburgh that is about a mile away from the Edinburgh Castle. The hill is approximately 823 ft high above the city and offers an outstanding panoramic view of Edinburgh. It is a great attraction for tourists with accommodation in Edinburgh as it is very easy to climb and is also a renowned walk. Though the hill can be climbed up from any direction but the most advisable one would be from the eastern side of the hill as where a grassy slope is found to rise above Dunsapie Loch. As per many believers, the hill derives its name from a innumerable of legends who pertained to King Arthur. However, a few claim that it is merely the corruption of the phrase “Archer’s Seat”.
